Antique Tribal Silver V-Shaped Bracelet from India (#18-032)

This hand wrought tribal silver bracelet from India has a V-shape in profile. It may be a variation of ‘vanki’ type bracelets from the state of Maharashtra, although I have not yet seen one with a hooked closure like this one. thick silver wire has a pattern of small circles or beads, and additional wrapping of beaded wire on the half that has the closure. The bracelet is quite rigid and comes apart only very slightly when unhooked. The piece shows significant wear and evidence of age.
