Classic Navajo Silver and Turquoise Bracelet Circa 1940 (#18-009)
This fine old Navajo bracelet is constructed of heavier sheet silver, with the band split in the center. The single stone is set on a rectangular plate and decorated with small beading and braided wire, as well as a hand-cut sawtooth bezel. The set stone is flanked by wrapped wire and large silver drops. The remainder of the band features high quality stamp work. Of somewhat heavier silver than typical tourist pieces, this bracelet has a pleasing design and shows significant signs of age and wear, particular around the stone. Unmarked, but coin silver or better, as is typical of earlier Navajo jewelry.
