Navajo Stamped Silver and Turquoise Bracelet with Three Rectangular Stones (#18-007)
A beautiful old Navajo bracelet with three rectangular turquoise stones, dating to around 1940. This attractive old bracelet features three lovely high grade turquoise stones. Both in weight and style this bracelet more closely resembles Navajo jewelry made for their personal use, rather than jewelry made for the tourist trade. The rectangular stones range in color from blue-green to light blue, and have a beautiful dark matrix. Set in simple bezels they are flanked by large drops. The central stone is also bordered by two vertical twisted wires. The band is decorated by attractive stamp work. The back of the bracelet has a silver plate soldered onto it, possibly indicating an early repair. All in all a wonderful old bracelet. Unmarked, but coin silver or better, as is typical of early Navajo jewelry.
