Navajo Stamped Silver Three Stone Bracelet Circa 1930’s-40’s (#18-002)

This wonderful old Navajo bracelet dates to the 1930’s or 40’s and features unusual stamp work, as well as three gorgeous turquoise stones. It has many design characteristics of early Navajo jewelry. The three beautiful domed oval stones are mounted on a diamond shaped central plate, and flanked by two plates with stamp work reminiscent of a fleur de lis or perhaps a corn plant motif. The central stone has five stamped drops both above and below it. The stamp work on the band itself is especially unusual, and the stamps were likely made by the silversmith himself. The design as a whole has a somewhat baroque feeling but harmonizes the different decorative elements quite effectively. The stones are beautiful high grade natural turquoise ranging in color from green to blue. With good patina and signs of age, it shows evidence of professional repair behind the central plate. Unmarked but coin silver or better. A beautiful old bracelet.
