Navajo Stamped Silver Pillbox Circa 1940 (#18-006)

Finely crafted early Navajo stamped silver pillbox. This classic Navajo Pillbox was hand crafted by a skilled silversmith sometime in the 1930’s or 40’s. Rectangular in shape, with rounded corners, it features fine stamp work consisting of a border and a complex decorative motif in the center. The lid is slightly domed, and the hinges are made in the traditional Navajo manner. It has good weight for a piece destined for the curio trade, and a fine dark patina. It is in good vintage condition and closes tightly. A fine early example of Navajo silver work. Unmarked, but good silver.
